More from the edge of Queens
Emerald city, otherwise known as "The Hole". In the short time spent here, I was told that the streets are flooded like this after rain, and that the cowboys come through every so often. Nearby to Emerald City are a group of city riders known as the Federation of Black Cowboys. I was hoping to talk to some of them, and perhaps get their photograph, but I was not so lucky this time.
These neighborhoods are beginning sit at the edge of my consciousness, between the soft tissue and skull. There are small stories here, short histories to be told. I'm trying not to forget that some places sink, and others keep rising out of the layers of old.

I'm wearing orange, so that you can see me
On the morning of Thanksgiving, while most of you were somewhere in second stage REM, I was walking out into the woods with Chuck, waiting for this young buck to walk by. Chuck and his family are the definition of hospitality. I had a fantastic holiday away from New York, and Federico got one of his last tastes of the USA before he heads home in a few weeks.
Thank you Sherry, Chuck, and the rest of the family for welcoming us to your home. We had a great time eating great food (two words: SAUSAGE GRAVY), hunting, and shooting skeet. You could not pack more fun into 3 days.
Wendy: "You look like one of those yuppie hunters."
Me: "Me? Why?"
Wendy: "Its the vest, nobody around here wears Patagonia!"
Thank you Wendy, for putting me in my place!

Fun with fisheye
Got to borrow a lens from a friend for some fisheye fun. This market is under the Manhattan Bridge, and I suggest anyone who likes to take street shots to come down here in the morning for great light. If you can't make it before the sun swings west, wait till a bit after dark for some HUGE piles of cardboard left overs. All the produce boxes are bundled into huge stacks that sometimes get 10ft tall by 25ft long.
